Standard WH series machines produce air conditioning as by product of water heating. But, when there is no demand for hot water, there is no air conditioning benefit. If you want air conditioning on demand and high efficiency water heating the E-Tech 2-Cool system can provide both.

2 Cool system with supplemental on demand air conditioning

The 2 Cool is a high efficiency heat pump water heater combined with a remote condensing unit for air conditioning on demand. When heating water it provides air conditioning as a by product of water heating. When hot water is not required, it functions as a standard split-system air conditioner. The system has two (2) modes:

1. Water Heating Mode:

The 2 Cool is controlled by an aqua stat mounted on the water tank. When the aqua stat indicates a need for water heating, the 2 Cool works like a standard WH series high efficiency water heater providing a substantial reduction in water heating energy costs and providing air conditioning as a by product. When there is no demand for hot water, the 2Cool system functions as a conventional high efficiency split system air conditioner to maintain comfort levels for work areas and employees.

2. Air Conditioning Mode:

When there is no requirement to heat water, but there is a need for air conditioning, a wall thermostat activates the compressor, the indoor blower and an outdoor condenser fan. Thus the 2Cool System will operate as a split system air conditioning system.

Ideal applications include school cafeterias, nursing home kitchens, mid-sized laundry facilities and mid-sized restaurant kitchens.
